| Former world number one Oliver made a wonderful comeback in 2013 and was much the quickest in the preliminaries. In the final, he and Riley were off quickest, but Oliver had the lead by the second hurdle. World record holder Merritt hit the sixth hurdle and was then out of the reckoning, while Wilson held second place. Shubenkov moved up from sixth with four hurdles remaining to take the bronze medal ahead of defending champion Richardson, who clipped the final barrier. Oliver, meanwhile, scored a clearcut win with the world’s fastest time of the year. |
